My "job" in the work period during the 10-day winter kyol che at Gaksu was cleaning the washroom. On the fourth day, I supposed to leave the temple for a day and attend my friend's wedding. However, I decided to continue the kyol che finally.
At the work period that day, I brushed the floor as usual. The time of the work period was very close to my friend's wedding ceremony. A question suddenly came to my mind - "What is love?". Perhaps, I was thinking of my friend or my mind connected with her. Then, the story I read from "Dropping Ashes on the Buddha" came up: Once, a zen student in the US asked Zen Master Seung Sahn "What is love?". Zen Master Seung Sahn told him "You ask me, I ask you... this is love." I thought cleaning the washroom is also love. You use the washroom, and I clean the washroom; I use the washroom, and you clean the washroom. This is love! Hahaha... I was laughing in my heart. After that, I continued to brush the floor happily.
